PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device capable of attaining a power increase and size reduction. SOLUTION: This stepping motor includes: a magnet ring 1; a first and a second coil 2, 3; a first stator 8 having comb-teeth-shaped first external pole portions 8A-8D disposed along an outer-periphery surface from one edge surface in an axial direction of the magnet ring 1; a second stator 9 having comb-teeth-shaped second external pole portions 9A-9D which are disposed along the outer periphery surface from the other edge surface in the axial direction of the magnet ring 1; and a rotating shaft 10 which faces the first external pole portions 8A-8D and the second external pole portions 9A-9D and in which an internal pole portion 10A excited by the first and the second coil 2, 3 is formed. The first external pole portions 8A-8D and the second external pole portions 9A-9D are formed into a spiral shape, top edge parts of the first external pole portions 8A-8D and top edge parts of the second external pole portions 9A-9D are overlapped in the axial direction of the magnet ring 1.
