PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of coping with an act of sabotage that is conducted on a monitoring camera. SOLUTION: The monitoring camera 1a comprises a photographic means 11 drive means 14, 15 for setting the photography range of the photographic means 11; interference detection means 11, 13a-13n for detecting the interference to the monitoring camera; transmission and reception means 16, 17 for transmitting and receiving a signal to and from the outside; and a control means 18 for controlling the operation of the monitoring camera 1a. The monitoring camera 1a, which detects the interference by the interference detection means 12, 13a-13n, transmits the signal containing own identification information to a controller. Other monitoring cameras that are not disturbed receive a control signal, containing information for designating the photography range of the photographing means 11 from the controller for controlling the drive means 14, 15 and change the photographic range of the photographic means 11.
