PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity apparatus capable of properly controlling transmission diversity without the need for feedback information exclusively for controlling the transmission diversity. SOLUTION: The diversity apparatus calculates an average transmission power from a received signal and sets a threshold on the basis of the average transmission power value. The diversity apparatus determines the transmission power value on the basis of RPC bits for instructing a transmission output and compares the transmission power value with the threshold to select a transmission antenna.
