PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the falling of articles due to earthquake in a robust structure in a storage rack. SOLUTION: The storage rack 1 is provided with a plurality of vertical stages of rack frames 5 for mounting articles 6, and an opening part 8 for taking in/out the articles 6. This fall prevention device 10 is provided with a vertically long fall prevention frame 11 preventing the falling of the articles 6 from the opening part 8, a chain 12 suspending the fall prevention frame 11 movably in the right/left between an operation position facing the opening part 8 and a non-operation position opening the opening part 8, and a retaining tool 22 retaining the fall prevention frame 11 in the operation position to an opening part side end of the rack frame 5. The retaining tool 22 is provided with a laterally-opening recess part fitted with the fall prevention frame 11 and a locking member closing the fall prevention frame 11 in the recessed part.
