PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which can perform borderless recording at a high speed. SOLUTION: When continuous recording is performed on a plurality of pieces of recording paper 47, positions of ends of the initial n pieces of recording paper are detected in detail, and an image is recorded on the basis of end position information (detailed control recording). When the initial n pieces of recording paper are carried without causing great displacement or skewing, the image is recorded on the basis of information on the end position of the recording paper, to which the recording has already been applied, without the detailed detection of the end position of the following pieces of recording paper (simple control recording). After the simple control recording has been done on a certain number of pieces of recording paper, the image is forcedly recorded by using the detailed control recording. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
