The apparatus includes an output device (12) for emitting a fluid or gaseous cleaning medium. Preferably the medium is kept in a separate tank (15), which is integrated into the solarium apparatus. The output device may be a spray with an atomizer nozzle (20). An independent claim is included for a method of operating a solarium.
