A gas dryer (l0) is provided in which a flowing desiccant stream is utilized. Desiccant is provided in a vessel (12) to dry compressed gas. The vessel includes an inlet (32) for receiving dry desiccant and an outlet (26) for removing wet desiccant from the tower. The desiccant is regenerated as it is transported to the inlet of the vessel.
