<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress DC components in the signal light and improve the bER, without degrading the S/N ratio of the reproduced image. <P>SOLUTION: The intensity of the signal light 100 is spread wide over the hologram recording material 80 to suppress the DC components by mounting a phase mask 12 to diffuse the light close to the spatial modulator 11. It has been proved experimentally that aggravation of the S/N ratio of the recording image can be prevented, without the noise from the phase mask 12 appearing on the signal light by making the minimum unit of the light-diffusing pattern formed in the phase mask 12 several times as large as the minimum unit of the display data of the spatial modulator 11, and making the boundary of the light diffusion pattern of the phase mask 12 not come into the smallest unit of the display data of the spatial modulator 11. Thus, the bER can be improved by suppressing DC components in the signal light 100, without degrading the S/N ratio of the reproduced image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
