PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel whose display area has a substantially elliptical or circular shape, wherein the display quality of a center part and a corner part in the display area are made uniform. SOLUTION: In the active matrix type liquid crystal display panel 10, wherein the display area DA is formed by sticking a pair of light transmissive substrates 11 and 15 made to face each other by using a sealant and encapsulating a liquid crystal 17 in the space formed by the light transmissive substrates and the sealant and which is provided with a plurality of signal lines Y1,..., Ym, scanning lines X1,..., Xn, pixel transistors 14, pixel electrodes 12 and auxiliary capacitance electrodes 13 on one substrate of the light transmissive substrates, the display area is formed into a substantially elliptical or circular shape, the pair of substrates are cut to the part near to the display area and an area of intersection parts 25, where the plurality of signal lines and scanning lines intersect each other, is changed according to the number of the signal lines that intersect the scanning lines or the number of the scanning lines that intersect the signal lines.
