PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telescopic boom with a structure wherein sliding between inner and outer divided booms are performed in normal loading, and the divided booms are prevented from being damaged in excessive loading. SOLUTION: The telescopic boom 1 is configured by telescopically assembling a plurality of divided booms 1a to 1c having a rectangular cross section. A roller 10 pressed by a spring 19 and brought into contact with a front face of the inner divided boom 1b (1c) is provided on a front plate of an upper part of at least one divided boom 1a (1b) in which the divided boom 1b (1c) is fitted. In the vicinity of the roller 10, a slide plate 11 with which, in the excessive loading, the front face of the inner divided boom 1b (1c) is brought into contact is provided.
