PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there is a risk of failing to catch a reporting sound from a kitchen timer due to sounds from the speaker of a kitchen television, if mounted in the kitchen, whereas the so-called kitchen timer is known for producing reporting sounds by a buzzer, etc. after a preset cooking time lapsed in the kitchen. SOLUTION: An acoustic apparatus is designed so that, when a kitchen timer outputs a reporting sound, a speaker 21 produces a reporting sound together with television sounds, and besides a mute circuit automatically mutes the television sounds during producing the reporting soundto avoid failing to catch the reporting sound.
