PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of suppressing an external short circuit not only in abnormality occurrence but also in the case of an unused state. SOLUTION: This battery is characterized by that a sealing member 3 electrically connected to a positive electrode is not electrically connected to a battery cap 12 in an unused state of the battery by installing, between the battery cap 12 and the sealing member 3, a spring 15 for energizing both of them 3 and 12, and the battery cap 12 and the sealing member 3 are electrically connected to each other against the energizing force of the spring 15 in a used state of the battery.
