PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can be manufactured through stages similar to conventional manufacturing stages for liquid crystal display devices and has less possibility of a short circuit between intersecting wiring lines, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 10 having a wiring line intersection part at the periphery of a display region on an active matrix substrate, a plurality of slave wiring lines 33a and 33b, and 34a and 34b are connected to the wiring line intersection part in parallel to intersect other wiring lines 32 disposed below an insulating film on both sides of main wiring lines 33 and 34 disposed above the wiring intersection part across the insulating film, and then etched at the same time in a subsequent stage to electrically cut both ends 36<SB>1</SB>to 36<SB>4</SB>of the other wiring lines 32 disposed below the insulating film. Consequently, even if static electricity is generated before the etching stage of the slave wiring lines 33a and 33b, and 34a and 34b, the main wiring lines 33 and 34 and other wiring lines 32 less short-circuit.
