PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample temperature controller for easily and appropriately measuring a sample under temperature control. SOLUTION: The sample temperature controller 10 used for maintaining sample temperature at desired temperature when optically measuring a sample 12 comprises a vessel 14 for keeping a heating medium 18 used for controlling the temperature of the sample 12; and a sample holder 16 that has thermal conductivity, a dipped section that is immersed into a heating medium 18 in the vessel 14 and a non-dipped section that is not immersed into the heating medium 18, where at least one portion of the non-immersed section is used as a sample installation section 22 in which the sample 12 is placed adhesively. By utilizing the thermal conductivity that the sample holder 16 has, the temperature of the sample 12 placed at a sample installation section 22 that is the non-immersed section of the sample holder 16 is maintained at desired, determined temperature based on the temperature of the heating medium 18 in the vessel 14.
