PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a cask capable of easily guaranteeing the intactness at the time of unusual high temperature by fire etc. in intermediate storage of a spent fuel. SOLUTION: The cask 1 has a thick wall steel-made shell body 4 and a basket 3 inside, the spent fuel 2 is contained in the basket 3 and the upper opening of the shell body 4 is sealed in double, with a primary lid 7 and a secondary lid 8. In the case of unusual high temperature by fire etc. , a fusible plug 22 capable of exhausting out of the cask 1, the gas discharged out of resin 12 placed at the bottom of the shell body 4 is set at the bottom side part of the shell body 4.
