PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the dephosphorize-treatment having the same degree of dephosphorizing efficiency as that of the conventional method, even in the case that the consumption of lime is less than that of the conventional method and flux-containing fluorine is not used. SOLUTION: In a method for dephosphorize-treating molten iron, flux mainly containing CaO is added and gaseous oxygen source and/or solid oxygen source as the oxygen source, are supplied and the added flux mainly containing CaO is made into slag and the dephosphorizing treatment to the molten iron is applied; a material containing titanium oxide in addition to the flux mainly containing CaO, is used as a part of the flux. Then, it is desirable that the content of the titanium oxide in the above slag is controlled to≤10 mass%, and as a part of slag-making agent, further, a material containing aluminum oxide is used, and the above flux mainly containing CaO, the material containing titanium oxide and the material containing aluminum oxide include substantially no fluorine and further, as the material containing titanium oxide, sand iron is used.
