PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclohexanedione derivative exhibiting a quick acting action as a herbicide. SOLUTION: The herbicide contains a compound expressed as an effective component. Provided that, in the formula, R1shows a 6-9C alkyl for which a 1-4C alkoxy may be subjected in some cases, or a 6-9C alkenyl for which 1-4C alkoxy may be subjected in some cases; each of R2, R3, R6and R7shows a hydrogen atom or a methyl, or R2forms an ethylene together with R7; and each of R4and R5shows a hydrogen atom or a methyl, or they show an oxo together.
