The sun visor has a pair of slide rods (26,28) which extend in the movement direction of a light protection panel (5). The slide rods each have toothed surface (26A,28A), a rolling surface (26C,26D;28C,28D) and a side surface (26B,28B). Several holders are provided, one of which is a drive gearwheel (56A,56B) which engages with the toothed surface of the slide rod. A drive motor (30) may be provided for directly or indirectly rotating at least one of the holders to move the light protection panel forward or backwards.
