The invention relates to a deformable divider for a vehicle impact safety barrier, of the type that is used between a vertical support- or post-fixing element and a horizontal impact or railing element. The invention is characterised in that the deformable divider (3) comprises two U-shaped metal parts (5 and 6) which are positioned with the open faces thereof facing one another and which are assembled to form a single body. One of said parts is partially housed inside the groove of the other and the two parts are joined to one another with suitable fixing means that extend through corresponding holes. In addition, the flanges of the aforementioned parts are equipped with guide holes (11) (11') at different heights, such as to guide the bend in the divider. The invention also comprises a fusible fixing system between the divider and the post.
