PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, apparatus, and program capable of preventing occurrence of a blur to a repaired part and surely obtaining a naturally repaired image. SOLUTION: When the image processing method arranges an embedding patch to pixels on rims of a region to be repaired in the order of pixels with higher embedding priority and replaces an image in the embedding patch with an image in a region whose pixel value is known to embed the region to be repaired, the method arranges a priority calculation patch whose size is greater than that of the embedding patch to each pixel on the rims of the region to be repaired, detects a border line extended from a contour line of the priority calculation patch at the known region side up to the rims in an image in the known region in the arranged priority calculation patch, and sets the priority of the pixels arranged with the priority calculation patch whose border line is detected higher than that of the pixels arranged with the priority calculation patch whose border line is not detected.
