PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of capacitors used in the voltage generating circuit generating various voltages, by using a charge pump in a liquid crystal drive circuit. SOLUTION: Relating to the drive voltage to supply to the driver for driving a liquid crystal display panel, equipped with source lines, gate lines and a common electrode, the source voltage and the common voltage are not maintained to the desired voltage through all the selection periods, but rather is maintained to a desired voltage in a period prior to, but including the end of the selection period.
