PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field emission display 1 using a three-electrode field emission element, wherein an electric field concentration at the peripheral edge within an effective pixel area can be prevented, and the formation of an unusual electric field can be suppressed by preventing electrification of a spacer. SOLUTION: A dummy electron emission electrode line 32 provided with an electron emission part and a dummy electron extracting electrode line 33 are arranged on both sides of an electron emission electrode line 22 which constructs the effective pixel area 26 displaying a predetermined image and on both sides of an electron extracting electrode line 24 so as to intersect the dummy electron emission electrode line, respectively. Thus, a dummy pixel area 34 that does not participate in the display of the image is provided so as to surround the effective pixel area 26. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
