PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an oriented polyimide fiber. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polyimide fiber comprises obtaining a polyisoimide fiber, by drawing a polyisoimide, and then imidizing the obtained fiber, wherein the produced polyimide fiber has a structure composed of repeating structures (A) and (B) specified in figures and satisfying formula (1): 0.5≤A/B≤2 [A is a mol number of the repeating structure (A); and B is a mol number of the repeating structure (B)].
