PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for carrying a panel which can perform different motions for every press station, and can be applied to a multi-slide type transfer press, and further can optimize the layout by elongating the carrying distance while suppressing its deflection and vibration. SOLUTION: The apparatus for carrying a panel comprises a link mechanism 6 composed of arms 7a, 7b, 8a, a first slide 4 and a second slide 5 which are connected to a part of the link mechanism 6 and are linearly moved in the tilting direction with respect to the horizontal plane, a first slide driving means 11 and a second slide driving means 12 for moving the first slide 4 and the second slide 5, and arm stretching/contracting mechanisms 21a, 21b, 22 for stretching and contracting the arms 7a, 7b, 8a interlocking with the movement of the first slide 4 and the second slide 5. A panel gripping portion 15 is moved in the carrying direction of the panel by the positional change due to the movement of the first slide 4 and the second slide 5 and the stretching and contraction of the arms 7a, 7b, 8a by the arm stretching/contracting mechanisms 21a, 21b, 22.
