[Also in Division A3] A baby's diaper comprises a core 1 of creped cellulose wadding or ground cellulose enclosed by a wrapper 2 consisting of one or more folded sheets of cellulose wadding and an outer openmesh knitted tube 3. A thin fleece of corded cotton fibres is provided on the outer side of the outer sheet of the wrapper 2. The wrapper and core may be impregnated with a bactericide, e.g. a quaternary ammonium compound or a phenolic compound isolated from coal-tar. The ends of the diaper may be compressed to form a firm edge comprising the core, wrapper and outer tube. |
