<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anorectic or a dieting method of safely and healthfully acquiring a slimming effect and a device for appetite suppression which enable safe self-control of appetite without the user's mentally and physically feeling a burden or side effects due to its use, that is, appropriately can suppress appetite without requiring extravagant efforts and burdens. <P>SOLUTION: The anorectic contains, as an active agent, an aqueous solvent extract of Veronia cinerea Less. or Veronia cinerea Less. and Morus as an active ingredient. The dieting method comprises evaporating the liquid component of the anorectic and sucking the formed vapor with a respirator by a person wishing to diet. The active ingredient is odorless and is not orally absorbed by the digestive organs and is directly taken in the blood from the respirator or the like through the lungs, the nasal mucous membrane and the like.
