<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly and easily detect developer residual quantity regardless of an individual difference in developing machines, aging change and difference in characteristic of developer. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus has specified quantity of developer measured beforehand and supplied to a developing machine 112 developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoreceptor 111 detected by a current detector 406 by converting to a current value of driving current for a bottle motor 403. The detected current value is stored to an EEPROM 316 for data as a reference value for judging existence of a deficiency in the developer residual quantity. An excess or deficiency in the developer residual quantity inside the developing machine 112 is judged by a CPU 315 of an engine control substrate 302 by comparing the current value detected by the current detector 406 when developing the electrostatic latent image with the reference value stored to the EEPROM 316 for data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
