PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system capable of enhancing visibility by constituting simply a display screen by displaying only a byroad or a back road toward a destination, and capable of enhancing using convenience thereby, a method therefor, and a program therefor. SOLUTION: A route candidate corresponding to an objective road of the byroad or the back road is selected out of the road candidates extracted by a route candidate extracting part 44, by an objective road selecting part 45 for the byroad or the back road, based on information of the byroad or the back road read from a disc read out using a disc control part 12. A link (section of the road) ID is held on an SRAM 7, as to the objective road of the byroad or the back road selected by the objective road selecting part 45 for the byroad or the back road, and the objective road of the byroad or the back road is displayed on an output part 10 by an objective road display part 46 for the byroad or the back road.
