<p>A rack-pinion steering gear (10) having a pinion (11) connected to a steering shaft; a rack shaft (12) meshing with the pinion (11); and a rack guide (14) on which a metallic roller (16) rolls on the back side of the rack shaft (12) and that supports the rack shaft (12) through the metallic roller (16). The metallic roller (16) has an elastic body (32) fixed at a portion of a rolling surface (29) of the metallic roller (16), and a metallic portion of the rolling surface (29) and the elastic body (32) are together in contact with the back side of the rack shaft (12). The construction enables generation of abnormal noise to be suppressed and driving stability of a vehicle to be improved.</p> |
