PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold assembling apparatus capable of rationalyzing the position of a tape with a mold without causing contamination or damage on the molding surface of a mold and capable of assembling the mold in a short time, a mold assembling method, a manufacturing method and apparatus of a plastic lens. SOLUTION: The mold assembling apparatus is equipped with a first mold holding part 21 for holding a lower mold 11 having a protruded molding surface 11A formed thereto, a second mold holding part 22 for holding an upper mold 12 having a recessed molding surface 12A formed thereto, an IC tag 31 for respectively specifying both molds 11 and 12 and storing the preliminarily measured dimensional data of the specified molds 11 and 12, a reading means 54 for reading the dimensional data stored in the IC tag 31, a relative moving means 5 for relatively moving both molds 11 and 12 on the basis of the dimensional data read by the reading means 54 and a tape winding means for winding the tape T around the peripheral surfaces of both molds 11 and 12 relatively moved by the relative moving means 5. When a mold 13 is manufactured, it is unnecessary to apply the measuring element of a linear gauge to the respective molding surfaces 11A and 12A of the molds 11 and 12.
