PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network facsimile machine and a network facsimile system in which an image or audio is stored in a suitable storage means and only the thumbnail of the image or an audio icon can be transmitted by electronic mail and viewed. SOLUTION: A network facsimile machine 1 stores, in a picture information storage section 8, at least either image data acquired from a reader 3 or the like or audio data acquired from a handset or the like connected to a line control unit 11, creates the thumbnail of the acquired image or/and creates an audio icon designating the acquired audio, attaches the thumbnail or/and the audio icon, creates and transmits the electronic mail of an HTML form with link information added for linking the thumbnail or/and the audio icon and the image data or/and the audio data in the picture information storage section 8.
