PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver for automatically changing the audio signal when contents of image displayed on the principal screen are changed to CM. SOLUTION: The television receiver comprises a multi-screen displaying means for synthesizing an output video signal of a first signal source as a tuner and an output video signal of a second signal source to display the image depending on the output video signal of the first signal source on the display screen as the principal screen image and to display the image depending on the output video signal of the second signal source on the display screen as the sub-screen image, a CM detecting means for detecting that contents of the television broadcast being received of the first signal source is CM, and an audio selecting means for outputting an output audio signal of the first signal source when it is not detected that contents of the television broadcast being received of the first signal source is CM and also outputting an output audio signal of the second signal source when it is detected that contents of the television broadcast being received of the first signal source is CM.
