PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which has a moisture-proofing function of always preventing dew condensation for a prescribed time t within a prescribed period T in a prescribed temperature range. SOLUTION: With respect to an optical device (like binoculars) having a liquid-tight structure, a moisture absorbent whose amount of moisture absorption is larger than the sum of a total water content of polymer materials in the enclosure, an amount of moisture penetration from polymer materials of enclosure components, and an amount of vapor existing in the enclosure is enclosed in an enclosure, and the moisture absorbent has a constitution of always having a capability to absorb the amount of moisture which is larger than the sum of an amount of moisture emission from polymer materials in the enclosure, an amount of moisture penetration in polymer materials of enclosure components from the outside of the enclosure into the enclosure, and an amount of vapor included in air in the enclosure, for the prescribed time t within the prescribed period T in a prescribed temperature environment.
