PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel and a lens unit which can be miniaturized by efficiently storing an FPC. SOLUTION: A moving barrel 41 is held by a fixed barrel 40 freely movably in an optical axis direction. A storing part 41c whose thickness is within the thickness of the barrel 41 is formed nearly parallel to the optical axis in the moving barrel 41. The storing part 41c is formed as an opening, and the inner peripheral surface side of the storing part 41c is covered by a position detecting sensor 70. One end of the FPC 72 is connected to the position detecting sensor 70, the other end is connected to a unit control part 71 installed in the fixed barrel 40. The FPC 72 is stored in the storing part 41c while curving the excess length part into a U-shape. Consequently, the excess length part generated in the FPC 72 in accordance with the position of the moving barrel 41 is stored in the storing part 41c. In addition, the width of the storing part 41c is made nearly equal to that of the FPC 72, and the movement of the FPC 72 in the width direction is controlled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
