PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for facilitating fitting of a water rod cover on a rubber roll. SOLUTION: In the method for fitting the cylindrical water rod cover wherein the water rod cover woven out of hydrophilic fibers is fitted on the rubber roll, the surface of a roll part of the rubber roll is covered with a film which is slippery at least on the side opposite to the surface in contact with the roll.
