PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crankshaft forming method which is easy to implement, when carrying out crankshaft formation including gear-cutting work, and enabling high processing precision. SOLUTION: With the axis 3 of a crankshaft 2 directed vertically, the crankshaft 2 is supported by a turntable 13. Based on the rotational driving A of this turntable 13, the crankshaft 2 is arranged to rotate around its axis 3, and a hob cutter 22 is supported by a hob head 20, which can be relatively moved with regard to the turntable 13, while some external circumference face in the shaft direction of the crankshaft 2 is put to gear-cutting work without use of cutting oil. After gear-cutting work, and after hob cutter 22 is started to be engaged in separation driving C from the crankshaft 2, cleaning liquid 26, which is discharged from a liquid discharge opening 29, is poured (H) onto this crankshaft 2, from the upper side of the crankshaft 2, with the crankshaft left in the state of turning.
