PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a chair durable against a large backward load by increasing the supporting strength of a backrest separate from a seat of the chair. SOLUTION: Erected rods 11b of a pair of left and right backrest support frames 11 are attached to both side faces of the lower part of the backrest 3, and the upper ends of the erected rods 11b are connected to the rear ends of respective armrest parts facing rearward, which are connected to the upper ends of front legs 2a facing in the vertical direction of a pair of left and right front leg frames 2. The front ends of forward rods 11a connected to the lower ends of the erected rods 11b of the left and right backrest support frames 11 are connected to the rear ends of a pair of seat support rods 8 extending backward from a horizontal frame 5 connected to the left and right front legs 2a under the armrest parts 6.
