PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method capable of readily detecting activity ofα-aminotransferase in a wide oxygen concentration range enabling determination. SOLUTION: Anω-amino compound and anα-keto acid produced by reaction catalyzed byα-aminotransferase to be detected produce an aldehyde compound-containing compound which is a reaction product by using anω-aminotransferase specific to theω-amino compound and theα-keto acid as a catalyst. Theα-aminotransferase to be detected is detected by detecting a reduction type nicotinamide coenzyme produced by carrying out reaction using an aldehyde hydrogenase as a catalyst by using the aldehyde-containing compound as a substrate.
