The actuator has a cylindrical housing (11) whose both ends are open, and an electric ignition device disposed to block an opening portion at one end of the cylindrical housing. A piston and a piston rod are inserted into the cylindrical housing to be capable of an axial motion. The cylindrical housing has a gas discharge port in a peripheral surface, where the gas discharge port is blocked by the piston prior to activation and opened by the motion of the piston after activation.
