<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element which can be used, without causing delamination between an alignment layer and a retardation layer or causing inter-layer exfoliation in the alignment layer, even in high-temperature and high-humidity environment, with regard to the optical element having an alignment layer and a retardation layer. <P>SOLUTION: The optical element comprises a transparent substrate, an alignment layer which is formed on the transparent substrate and comprises a polymer compound, having alignment ability of liquid crystal molecules and a retardation layer, which is formed on the alignment layer and comprises a polymerized material of polymerizable liquid crystal compounds having acryloil groups, wherein a silane-coupling agent, having amino groups, is contained in the alignment layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
