<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared-type gas detector capable of effectively irradiating an infrared-detecting section with infrared radiation. <P>SOLUTION: The infrared-type gas detector 100 is equipped with an infrared-emitting device 10, an infrared-detecting device 20, a housing 30 and the like. The infrared-emitting device 10 has an infrared-emitting element 11, a connector 12 and the like. The infrared-detecting device 20 has an infrared-detecting element 21, a band-pass filter 22, a connector 23 and the like. The housing 30 has an open pore 31 for introducing a gas to be detected (e.g., CO<SB>2</SB>or the like) into an ellipsoidal gas chamber 32. The infrared-emitting device 10 and the infrared-detecting device 20 are mounted on the housing 30.
