<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device having high startability while achieving reduction in size and weight. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device includes a discharge lamp, a reflecting mirror surrounding the discharge lamp, and a front glass so attached as to close the front opening of the reflecting mirror.
