PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor and its control method capable of displaying an opening screen capable of interesting users by displaying images related to an activation position as the opening screen when powered up. SOLUTION: The data processor and its control method are provided with a current position detection means for detecting a current position; an area determination means for determining an area to which an activation position belongs with a current position as the activation position when the data processor is powered up; and a display control means for displaying images based on image data related to the area and previously stored.
