PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) paper having good quality and suppressed coarse voids or pinholes which are disadvantages of conventional PPS paper in the paper and to provide a tow, a staple fiber strand, pulp and a liquid dispersion composed of PPS nano-fibers suitable as a raw material therefor. SOLUTION: The tow is composed of polymer alloy fibers in which a readily soluble polymer is the sea and the polyphenylene sulfide is islands. The average diameter of the islands is 1-1,500 nm and the ratio of the islands having 1,500-5,000 nm diameter is 0-5%. The tow fineness is 10,000-2,000,000 dtex and the apparent density of the tow is 0.001-1 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. The staple fiber strand is obtained from the tow and has 0.1-30 mm fiber length. The pulp has >1 to≤30 wt.% fiber concentration therein. The fiber concentration in the liquid dispersion is≥0.00001 to≤1 wt.%. The paper has 10-1,000 g/m<SP>2</SP>basis weight.
