PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make different the error treatment in performing drive control of a transporting mechanism according to the operating sequence, the mechanism being arranged to transport recording media using a DC motor as a power source. SOLUTION: A recording device is equipped with the transporting mechanism to transport the recording media using the DC motor as the power source, wherein the treatment when a failure is generated in sequence is made different according to which sequence the motor driving sequence belongs to, i.e. the sheet feeding sequence S851, the recording sequence S852, and the sheet ejecting sequence S853.
