PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for easily removing liquid and powder stuck to a container side face and cleaning it. SOLUTION: This cleaning device for the container side face includes: a planar conveyor for carrying containers; two clamping vertical type rotating bodies provided with a slight space on the surface of the conveyor, rotated in the same direction and moved relatively to a direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the planar conveyor to clamp the container; and a brushing vertical type rotating body moved to be in contact with the container in linkage with the movement of the clamping vertical type rotating bodies to rub the periphery of the container.
