The electric shaving razor (100) has a head unit (106) having a foil (108) for short hairs and exposed cutters (107) for longer hairs comprising a fixed toothed cutter adjacent the skin and a reciprocating toothed cutter behind which may cause slight contact injury in use. To prevent such contact the stationary cutter teeth have a bulging tip which deflects the skin.
