The method for adjustment of a sensor (2) of a motor vehicle (1) for detection of objects in the surroundings. There is a differential object (4) in a defined position in front of the sensor with the alignment of the sensor being done relative to the differential object and, in the instance of a deflection from a predefined individual alignment. The adjustment of the reference object is achieved via an adapted adjustment marker (5) on the vehicle. The height adjustment of the reference object may be achieved via the adjustment marker.
