A magnetic alloy, of low wear-rate by abrasion and whose magnetic properties are retained up to 1 mc/s., despite brazing, has the composition: .Fe.84.5% .Al.6.0% .Si.9.5% The alloy is one of a range described in U.S.A. Specification 2,193,768 and known by the Registered Trade Mark "Alfesil" and is embodied in a magnetic record/playback head for television recording (see Division G5).
