The invention relates to a shut-off device for a waste-water inspection chamber (1) which comprises in its interior an open gutter (2) having an inl et opening (23) and an outlet opening (4) for waste-water to flow through. Said shut-off device comprises a shut-off element (5) mounted upstream of the inl et opening (23), which can be swung open by the flow force of the waste-water flow and which can be retained or released by a magnetic lock (6). Said magnetic lock (6) retains, in the shut-off position, the shut-off element (5 ) against the inlet opening (23) in a sealing manner and releases it when a defined water pressure is effective in the direction of flow, thereby releasing the inlet opening (23).
